Processing

The beneficiation of the coals of COPELMI is carried out centrally in the beneficiation unit: Mina do Recreio (Butiá – RS).

COPELMI adopts a processing philosophy characterized by treating each coal layer separately, considering that the different mined layers have distinct washability and quality characteristics.

This processing philosophy was adopted to obtain qualitative and economic optimization of the production process as a whole, seeking the best use of the mineral resource.
